Nokia : Major New RedHat Linux Platform Build
Goal
Project manage the design and build of a major new global Redhat Linux platform for deployment to Nokia-owned and colo data centres, subject to stringent SLA and performance metrics whilst maintaining global high-availability. Background
The platform was required to meet the requirements of the new Nokia-Yahoo partnership. As such it had major visibility within Nokia up to CEO level. EigenForge was tasked with project managing the delivery of this new platform within Nokia's Location Based Services division. The solution had to include a number of applications from Nokia and Navteq, and these applications were tightly subjected to a set of performance metrics defined by Yahoo. It also had to be securely and automatically bootable from bare-metal to fully working applications with accompanying data ingestion in dark global data centres. Execution
There was no hardware or operating system stack in place. EigenForge's immediate task was to oversee both the development of such a stack and assist in the procurement of the hardware for the new platform from the ground up. Tasks included:
